A grieving Nigerian widow, Chidinma Ugoji, has publicly accused her late husband’s family of attempting to discredit her marriage in a bid to seize his property.
Taking to her Facebook page, Chidinma revealed that her late husband’s elder brother testified in court, claiming she was merely a mistress — not a legally recognized wife — in an alleged effort to gain control of the family home.
In a bold move to refute the allegations, Chidinma posted a section of her late husband’s biography, which was written and signed by the same brother who denied her status in court. The document clearly identified her as the wife of the deceased, Ugoji Uzochukwu.
Expressing her frustration, the widow wrote,
She vowed to continue fighting for her rights, stating, *“This fight isn’t ending anytime soon. I’ll drag them so the world can see the kind of family my late father-in-law, Pa Ezekiel Ugoji, left behind. It’s unfortunate — he was a good man, to the best of my knowledge.”*
The unfolding family feud has sparked widespread attention on social media, with many sympathizing with the widow’s plight. The case remains ongoing in court.

In another post, she shared photos of the gate to her house locked with a padlock. In the caption, she told of how her children were sick in hospital on Dec. 21, when her late husband's brothers allegedly stormed her house with “weapons and chased her, her staff, and her kids out of the house, before locking them out.”

"I had the worst brother in-laws," she wrote.

Her husband died in September 2024 at the age of 46 and since then, she said her brothers-in-law, who used to live in her house and pretend to love her, have allegedly tried to render her homeless.
