
Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested a suspected killer of one Abbas Yuguda, who was attacked and gruesomely killed in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of the State.
It was gathered that Mr. Abbas, a Point of Sale operator was ambushed on March 22, 2025, on his way back home after closing his business for the day.
It was learnt that a group of assailants armed with dangerous weapons attacked the victim and inflicted severe injuries on him.
In a statement by the Command’s Spokesman, Yahaya Nguroje, on Monday, disclosed that security agents, upon receiving a distress call, arrived the scene and rushed the 35 year old man to hospital where he was later confirmed dead.
Yahaya said: “Upon receiving the distress call, operatives from the Mayo-Belwa Divisional Headquarters swiftly arrived at the scene and rushed the victim to Cottage Hospital, Mayo-Belwa. Unfortunately, he was confirmed dead while receiving treatment.”
Following the attack, some angry youths in the area trailed one of the suspects, identified as Umar SNU, and subjected him to mob action before the police intervened and rescued him.
“The suspect was rushed to the hospital for medical attention and is now aiding the ongoing investigation.”
