Gospel singer Sola Allyson has stirred conversations on social media with her views on women’s financial independence in relationships
In a recent video, Allyson emphasized the importance of self-sufficiency, drawing from her personal experience in a past relationship with a wealthy partner.

She recounted how she consistently declined her boyfriend’s offers of financial support, only accepting the exact amount she needed on occasions when assistance was necessary.

According to her, any excess money was promptly returned, reinforcing her stance on maintaining financial independence.

“You start dating someone today, and next tomorrow, your phone has spoiled,” Allyson remarked. “During my generation, if someone wanted to give me money, I wouldn’t collect it. I was once in a relationship where my boyfriend was very rich. When he wanted to give me money, I wouldn’t collect it. On the days when I needed money, if it was N500 I needed and he gave me N5000, I would remove the N500 and give him his N4500 back.”
