Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has strongly criticized Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, for distributing food in northern Nigeria during Ramadan.
In a viral video, Lamido called the initiative a “h¥miliation” to the region, arguing that it degrades the people and undermines their dignity. He questioned why a region known for producing great leaders like Aminu Kano, Sir Ahmadu Bello, and Tafawa Balewa is now reduced to receiving handouts of cooked rice.
“You say Arewa is known for bravery and integrity, yet Seyi Tinubu is in Sokoto and Kano, sharing cooked rice. Is this governance? This is total h¥miliation,” Lamido stated.
He urged the northern people to reject what he sees as a political strategy disguised as charity. “If we stay on the right path, no one can defeat us,” he added.
Seyi Tinubu recently visited several northern states, distributing food packages, including Danwake, in plastic bags branded with his and his father’s images. The move sparked backlash, with many calling it exploit@tive and ins+nsitive, especially during Ramadan.
