Nigerian pastor, Femi Lazarus, has finally backed down in his argument with singer Timi Dakolo, surprising some netizens.
The founder of Light Nation Church previously ignited an online debate by criticising gospel singers for demanding payment to perform in churches.
Timi Dakolo responded, defending singers’ right to charge for performances since it is their livelihood. He also pointed out that Pastor Femi Lazarus charges $150 for his ministry school.
This revelation fueled a heated debate, with more people sharing their opinions on social media.
Not long after Timi Dakolo exposed details about Femi Lazarus’ ministry school, the pastor took to social media on Monday to make peace.
He acknowledged Timi Dakolo as a legend who deserves recognition and admitted that the R&B singer’s concerns were valid.
Femi Lazarus went further to state that improved structures would be put in place, ensuring both hosts and guests fare better, as the struggles are felt from the pulpit to the pew.
A picture of the Nigerian preacher with Timi Dakolo was included with his post of goodwill.
Captioning the post, he wrote, “My brother @timidakolo is a music legend. Give him his flowers. What a man! He genuinely carries the burdens of musicians. His concerns are real. I love you. Better structures will be built. Pain is real. From pulpit to the pew, the pain is real, but we will be fine. This generation will not have a carryover of pain. Hosts will do better, Guests will do better. We will have a better nation together.”
