The suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has apologised to former minister of education, Oby Ezekwesili, for the insults she received during a heated exchange with  the Senator representing Ebonyi North, Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, on Tuesday, March 25.

The exchange took place at the Senate Ethics Committee hearing on the segxwal harassment allegation levelled against the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, by Akpoti-Uduaghan.

During the exchange, Nwaebonyi told Ezekwesili, “You’re an insult to womanhood,” after she had told him to "shut up".

Reacting, Akpoti-Uduaghan took to X to apologise to Oby Ezekwesili.

She wrote: “Dr. @obyezeks, Ma’am, I apologise for the insults. Know you took them for me… for us … as a mother and as a leader.

“Know that you are a true icon of integrity, courage, and visionary leadership.

“Your unwavering commitment to good governance, education and democracy continues to inspire generations.

“A champion of accountability…Nigerians appreciate you. I celebrate your brilliance, resilience and selfless service. You are a hero.”

God bless you my sister. God will put all of the thugs in the National Assembly to shame. If not for Oby Ezekwesili we wouldn't have known that Ndigbo voted one idiot into the Senate to represent us
