There was tension at the Senate on Wednesday morning, March 26, over a debate on the motion to award a posthumous national honour to the late chairman of the defunct National Electoral Commission (NEC) Humphrey Nwosu.

Recall that last week, INEC chairman, Yakubu Mahmood called for a national honour to be bestowed on Nwosu who conducted the annulled June 12, 1993, presidential election.

Nwosu, born on October 2, 1941, died on October 24, 2024.

This morning, the lawmakers began a debate on the proposed posthumous award and things degenerated so fast into a heated argument between two Senators.

You see am. The selfish Yoruba people have never commended the Igbo man who sacrificed his life to conduct the most credible election in Nigeria which the Yorubas are benefiting from up till today. If indeed the Yoruba senators oppose this move then ABIOLA should be deimmortalized. Is it not coming up now that  ABIOLA brought Abacha to overthrow Shonekan. OPEYEMI BAMIDELE is the Yoruba demon in the National Assembly.. The same BAMIDELE that threatened Natasha.
