The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared socialite and businesswoman Aisha Achimugu wanted over allegations of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale announced this in a statement shared on the agency’s X handle on Friday.

The agency has urged anyone with information about Aisha Achimugu’s whereabouts to report to its offices in various states or contact them via phone, email, or the nearest police station.

The circular reads, “The public is hereby notified that Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu, whose photograph appears above is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

“Achimugu, 51, is an indigene of Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State and her last known address is 6C, Rudolf Close, Maitama, Abuja.

“Anybody with useful information as to her whereabouts should please contact the commission at its Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or Abuja offices or through 08093322644, its email address: [email protected] or the nearest police station or other security agencies.”

Prior to this, the EFCC had summoned Achimugu to appear at its Port Harcourt office on March 5 regarding an investigation into alleged money laundering and a high-profile investment scam.

The letter, dated March 4, was signed by the agency’s acting zonal director in Port Harcourt, Adebayo Adeniyi, and sent to her Abuja residence.

The letter stated that Aisha Achimugu was needed for clarification on an ongoing case and was expected to attend an interview at the EFCC office.

However, instead of honoring the invitation, reports indicate that the businesswoman left Nigeria on March 6.

Following her alleged departure, the EFCC secured an arrest warrant and officially declared her wanted.
