Notorious bandit leader, Ado Aleru, has convened an emergency meeting with his fighters and loyalists following the killing of his nephew, Isuhu Yellow, by a rival bandit faction loyal to Dogo Gide.

This was made known by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert focused on the Lake Chad region, in a post on his X handle.

Makama said that he was informed by intelligence sources that the meeting was held on Thursday at one of Aleru’s camps in Munhaye forest, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

“We saw dozens of motorcycles carrying them (bandits) from all directions, heading towards Munhaye,” a local source, who requested anonymity, said.

The security expert stated that the killing of Isuhu Yellow in Dan Jibga village is believed to be part of the ongoing rivalry between Aleru and Gide, two of the most notorious bandit leaders operating in the North-West region.

According to the report, sources said the meeting was convened to discuss possible retaliation and strategies following the attack.

“The rivalry between Aleru and Gide has led to repeated violent clashes, causing loss of lives and displacement of communities in Zamfara and neighboring states,” the security expert noted.

This insecurity politics is really tiring. Nigerians sit and watch as their country is going. Few politicians are milking the country dry on a daily basis but the youth allow themselves to be divided along flimsy issues like tribe, religion and party affiliations. Every year, Billions are budgeted for the fight against insurgency and all forms of insecurity, but year in year out, it waxes stronger. If the Government is not enjoying the loot of that budgeted money every year, this issue would have long been forgotten. What will it take to invest in Intelligence and information, get the exact locations of all these bandits, and carry out a mop up within one week of intense bombing and land operations. Fortunately, the bandits are in forests, where it is safer to engage, but the Government still does nothing but budget millions every year.

I'm just glad we both agree that common Nigerian masses, who are at the receiving end of this evil, shouldn't themselves be divided along religion, tribe and political affiliations. When a Muslim commits a crime, that Muslim should be condemned, not all Muslims and not Islam. When a Christian is found wanting, he should be condemned and punished, not all Christians and Christianity. The evil politicians in Nigeria have been playing this same card for many decades but sadly, the youths keep falling for it.
By God's grace Nigeria will be great.

I hate North because they don't value life. Imagine how they are killing innocent Nigerians all over but quick to jump at anyone who harms even a cow from North. Investigate properly some of the people we take as Northerners are from Niger Republic.

Is it everybody in the north that are murderers?? Do you know how many igbo people are living and doing their businesses peacefully in the north?? Kano alone houses tens of thousands of igbo people. If all the northerners are murderers, wouldn't they have murderered those ones in their own backyard?? How about ESN boys murdering people in the east? Why haven't you tagged all igbo people as murderers because of the few people among them that kill indiscriminately??
