In a significant move against criminal activity, the Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a suspect and seized a firearm along with live ammunition during a recent raid in Karu Local Government Area.
Following directives from the Commissioner of Police, CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed, to intensify operations targeting criminal hideouts, operatives from the Masaka Division conducted a successful raid on the notorious "Me and You" black spot in the Masaka area on the night of April 25, 2025, around 10:30 p.m.
According to a statement from the command's spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel, 25-year-old Buhari Mustapha from Katsina State was arrested during the operation. A search of the area led to the recovery of an English-made Beretta pistol, bearing the breech number APL-C42201378075, along with twelve 9mm rounds of live ammunition.
The recovered items have been secured as evidence, and a full investigation has been launched to identify any other individuals involved in the criminal activities. The Commissioner of Police has expressed appreciation for the operatives' professionalism and encouraged continued efforts in combating crime across the state.
