The group also dispelled as untrue, allegations that six Trans City Transport Company (TCTC) buses were used to convey the weapons; the claim of sporadic shooting by criminals in the area and the report that a helicopter hovered over the area the following morning after the discovery of arms depot.
A release signed by the coordinator of the group, Kehinde Ayoola, said the Alao-Akala Project 2011, which has structures in all four component local government areas of Oyo, as well as in the 40 wards and compounds, possessed no gun or ammunition, but fully armed with the truth about the underdevelo-pment of Oyo , which was caused by the “egoistic predilections of a few megalomaniacs veiled with fleeting dalliance with a pseudo-progressive party.”
The group said the nature of campaign necessi-tated an agreement with TCTC for the lease of four and not six buses as claimed in the report, adding that the transaction was properly receipted.
