Ntito Piere (not real names) was kidnapped in 2009 at Ondo town, Ondo State as she was returning from school.
She was allegedly taken to Benin City, Edo State, by her abductor, Sunday Akpan. The suspect allegedly confined her to a secluded apartment, where he had sex with her regularly.
The girl, however, regained her freedom, when the Lagos State Police Command arrested the alleged abductor, who relocated from Benin to Lagos.
Trouble started for the little girl, when Akpan, a commercial motorcyclist (okada rider) accosted her on her way back from school and lied that her parents paid him some money to bring her home.
God, however, answered her parents’ prayers last week, when police raided the suspected abductor’s residence in Lagos, where they found the missing girl, who had already been abused by the man, who is old enough to be her father.
A police officer, who gave account of how the man was arrested, described it as a miracle, as all hopes to re-unite with her were lost by both the police and the girl’s family. He narrated how a case of a missing girl was reported in Ondo State three years ago, and the signals were sent to all the police commands.
He said after thorough search for the girl without success, the parents resigned to fate, while the police continued investigation. He disclosed that a few days after, another case of missing 13-year-old girl was reported in Benin, where one Akpan was fingered by informants during investigation.
According to him, Akpan was trailed to Lagos and was arrested and the girl found in his custody.
