The prosecutor, Sgt. Eleng Agwu, said that the convict molested his father on April 10.
Besides, the prosecutor said that John also beat up his elder sister for attempting to prevent him from taking an item from their mother's shop.
But before the court gave its judgment on Friday, Michael urged the court to help curtail John's bad behaviour, which he said had assumed an alarming dimension.
The President of the court, Mrs. Esther Eweka, sentenced John to two years and four months imprisonment with hard labour and without an option of fine.
In a related development, the court also sentenced a 31-year-old man, Mr. Lucky Ikhinwin, to two years imprisonment with hard labour without an option of fine for stealing a hen valued at N800.
The offence, according to the prosecution, was committed on February 21, in the home of Mr. Simeon Osadolor of 46, Isibor Street, Upper Sokponba, Benin.
Eweka ordered that the hen be released to the owner after it was identified in court.
The court also described as wicked the incessant assault on policewomen within the jurisdiction of the court. She advised policewomen to be in company with their male counterparts whenever they were on duty to arrest suspects.
Eweka, who made this observation while hearing a case of assault against a policewoman, Ilevbaoje Franca, 40, of Ugbekun Police Station by Miss Iyobor Godwin, wondered why Franca intervened in a case that had nothing to do with her.
She thereafter adjourned the case till Monday (today) and ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison custody.
