boko haram didnt start today. nigeria for a very long time has been laYING FOUNDATION FOR ITS OWN DESTUCTION .For a long time now, the country has been been condoning all forms of sectarian violence in the north. these incessant killings has finally laid a bedrock for bloody terrorism. many politicians and bigwigs has been associated with these killings yet no arrests have been made. The wanton burning of churches and killing of christians in the north has been treated with levity. Moslem clerics has not deemed it fit to warn their adherents. Now the whole NATION is suffering as a result of our sacred cowism and unmitigated cowardice. NOBODY IS SAFE IN NIGERIA, BE YOU A CHRISTIAN OR A MOSLEM.

•Bomb police station, kill 2 policemen, loot armoury in Kogi
•Attack Ogun ex-deputy gov’s house

Written by Yekini Jimoh and Olayinka Olukoya Sunday, 20 November 2011

THE Divisional Police Station, Kabba, was on Saturday bombed by some heavily armed robbers, killing two policemen. A branch of a first generation bank that is close to the police station was riddled with bullets. In a similar development, the home of a former deputy governor of Ogun State was stormed by some armed robbers on Saturday.

According to Sunday Tribune’s investigations, the robbers who attacked Kabba, numbering 10, invaded the police station at about 1.00 a.m. and bombed it, killing two policemen on duty and looting the armoury.

Sources added that the robbers arrived on two vehicles and two power motorcycles, adding that immediately they arrived, they started shooting sporadically and then threw explosives into the building, a development that resulted in fire that burnt the station.

It was further learnt that from there, they moved to the bank.

It was also gathered that they ignited several dynamites at the bank’s vault, but they could not gain access into it before they left.

Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Amana Abasankanga, who arrived Kabba to assess the situation, told journalists that immediately he was alerted to the incident, he mobilised his anti-riot men in Okene to go with the armoured personnel carrier (APC) to assist the policemen in Kabba.

According to him, while entering Kabba, the anti-riot men met the robbers who opened fire on them and deflated the tyres of the APC before they escaped.

He said his men swiftly responded to the exchange of gun fire with the robbers before they managed to escape, adding that he had put his men on red alert and expressed hope that the bandit would soon be arrested.

He said the bank had been raided by armed robbers for more than two times in recent times even as he urged residents not to panic as the long arm of the law would catch up with the fleeing bandits.

Also, the director of State Security Service (SSS) in the state, Mike Fubara, visited the scene of the crime, clarifying that it was robbery and not Boko Haram attack.

Meanwhile the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Michael Olabayo, who was on hand to receive the police commissioner, expressed shock over the operation.

A police corporal, Olatunji Opeyemi, who managed to escape the scene with bullet wounds, said the bandits came in three vehicles, accompanied by a power bike rider at about 1.00 a.m. and forcefully gained access into the station.

Reacting to the incident, the state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, described it as unacceptable.

He said those behind the attacks would be arrested by security agents.

The governor, who spoke through his director-general, press affairs, Mr. Richard Elesho, said it was barbaric for anybody to shed innocent blood, as he promised to beef up security in the state.

The Ogun incident occured at about 7.00 p.m. on Friday when armed men invaded the Olusegun Obasanjo Hilltop Estate residence of a former deputy governor of the state, Alhaja Salmot Badru.

This incident happened four days after robbers attacked the residence of former deputy speaker of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Edwards-Ayo Odugbesan in the same estate which is only a few metres away from the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The robbers, Sunday Tribune learnt, stormed Badru’s residence around 10.02 p.m. in a black Toyota Hiace and held everyone in the building hostage for many minutes.

The former deputy governor, who it was gathered, just returned from a trip, having sensed danger, locked herself up in one of the inner chambers of the building, preventing the robbers from reaching her.

An account of the story has it that one of the maids of the former deputy governor was seriously wounded.

The prompt intervention of men of the Gateway Response Squad (GRS) and mobile policemen from the Zone 2 was said to have made the robbers to flee the scene without achieving their aim.

The wounded maid, the account held, was taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident, saying the robbers did not gain entry into the building, due to prompt response by men of the command.

He explained that four teams were deployed to the scene as soon as the command received distress calls from neighbours.

Adejobi said the robbers scalled the fence when they knew that the police were around.

He maintained that the state police command would make the state unsafe for the hoodlums.

On Boko Haram we must first know what we are speaking against exactly

For me this is what I am speaking against:

- the Federal Government that started the killings on June 10, 2009 for absolutely no reason

- the Federal Government that did not compensate or try to appease the families and friends of the deceased

- the Federal Government that did not bring the murderous officials to book when they should have

- Nigerians who knew this issue and refused to speak for the oppressed

- The action of the Leader of the Group who resulting to attacking a police station when he could have tried other means of getting justice

- the Action of the Federal Government in the murder of Baba foi, Baba Fugu, and Muhammad Yusuf in detention and the mutilation of his body

- the action of the Federal Government in killing innocent people on the streets of Maiduguri in their thousands including the physically challenged

- The action of Government that came after that did nothing to settle the issue of the mass murder because they thought they won only to be reminded they haven't with bombs

- the Action of CAN in Yelwa massacre were about 600 Muslims were murdered

- the Action of the Christian Youths who attacked Muslims on Eid and killed about 300 and ate their flesh as caught on video

- the actions of Boko Haram in assasinating Islamic clerics that oppose them and targeting reprisal of the Jos Eid massacre on a different set of Christians that are not the perpetrators: innocent people in their place of worship

- the action of Nigerians who refuse to discuss issues and come up with solutions but rather prefer to make political and religious points from it by pointing fingers at any religion and/or trying to sell self out as "tolerant"

- The action of Goodluck Jonathan and his boys who make inflammatory comments daily while being unable to tackle the simplest of security challenges

- the action of the JTF and SSS in operating the American style of dubiousness which they call "intelligence" including murder, arrest and torture of the innocent without trial, spreading fake news, and claiming victory were it has failed
