A 36-YEAR-OLD nursing mother has found herself in the grips of the Nungua Police for smashing her 15-year-old daughter’s head with a hammer for disobeying her.

The suspect, Juliet Aboagyewaa, who resides at Nungua with her husband and four children, was said to have left the other three children in the care of the victim when she went to visit her sister.

She however returned home only to realize that the victim was not at home and this made her angry. When the 15-year-old returned home, the mother started beating her up and hit the head with a hammer. Immediately the mother saw that the daughter was bleeding, she stopped and went to bed without attending to her.

The victim was said to have been bleeding uncontrollably when she arrived at the police station. Information gathered indicated that the victim’s biological father travelled when she was still a baby and never returned to her or the mother.

Speaking to Daily Guide, the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Margaret S. Agbemabiese, who is the Head of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit, said on June 19, the victim, accompanied by two other persons, reported at the DOVVSU office with blood oozing out from a deep cut on her head.

The victim reported that her own mother, at about 9:00pm that same day, had hit her several times on the head with a hammer, without any provocation. Due to the gravity of the victim’s condition, the police went with her to the house to get someone to quickly take her to the hospital. When they got to the house however, the mother was fast asleep.

ASP Agbemabiese noted that when they woke the mother up, she told the police that she only beat the victim for defying her orders, but denied using a hammer. The mother was arrested while the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment. ASP Agbemabiese added that the mother, because of her daughter’s condition, was later released to go to the hospital to take care of the victim.

She was however rearrested when the victim was released from the hospital.

In an interview with the accused, she said she did not use a hammer but beat the victim and hit her head on the wall because she was very angry at her daughter for disobeying her.

She added that she suspected that the victim had gone to see her boyfriend because her other children had told her that the 15-year-old left the house immediately after she left for her sister’s.

She explained that she only wanted to prevent her daughter from getting pregnant.

Speaking to the victim, she noted that she did not have a boyfriend and that she went to the wash room, only to return to find out that one of her siblings had also left the house.

Suspecting that the sibling had gone to a party nearby, she decided to go after her as she did not want her mother to get angry upon returning home. However, she got back home only to realize that both her sister and mother had returned.

The victim stated that the mother had locked the main gate so she sat outside for some time until the accused finally opened the gate and started hitting her on the knee, shoulder, and then finally on the head with the hammer, adding that when the accused saw her bleeding, she stopped and went to bed.

She must be a carpenter also. What is wrong with us (AFRICANS). How comes you give belle to a woman, soon after she delivers, you fled and never return. This is very common among us Africans.

The woman is heartless, how can she use harmer on her child because she disobeyed her, is she is not disobeying God, have God kill her, supposing that is another person child, she would have roasted her.

What a wicked generation, anyway the word of God said that a time shall come when Mother will rise against her child and child against her mother.

So my dear naijapalls don't allow the end-time war to start from your family control your anger.

She went to the extreme.
Nobody is short of mistakes or shortcomings including her.
She didn't even try to find out from the daughter where she went. She just started beating her
maybe i think it's because of the buried anger the father of the girl left her in......that's why she is maltreating the girl

It is a very big sign of immaturity to punish your daughter for her  run-away dad. When you took in of the girl, did anybody hit you with hammer or can you say that you are rightly married and the man had to run away. Just make sure it did not lead to the death of that girl cos you are going to be responsible should in case. O.k, your wickedness did not allow you to know how she feel after trying to stop her from getting pregnant like you so you had to use hammer on her and you went to bed to the best you care. BAD MOTHER-EVIL WOMAN. You don't know the value of children.   Just pray that nothing worse happen to her cos it will be eye for eye and teeth for tat.....Shocked Shocked Shocked Cool Cool Cool
