Well, first of I would like question; when did the Nigerian population decrease to 50 million? If the whole of Nigeria estimates about 140 million in population and is growing continuously then; how can the Muslim population be 28 million? Well I have come to the conclusion that  the majority of Nigerians tend to be  sadly ignorant, racist, fascist and ill-informed this is down to the fact that they do not do any primary research, which leads to the disadvantage of having information that isn't at all validated. Before you decide to comment on any further topics make sure that you get your facts right, as most of you are just following the crowd of weak minded individuals, typical? No wonder why Nigeria is still developing as unfortunately we have some ignorant people who just haven't stepped into the 21st century.
This is a correct estimation of the correct Nigerian religious population:
Based on a 2009 World Religious survey (Mapping out the Global Muslim Population) 50.4% of Nigeria's population were Muslims, 48.2% were Christian (15% Protestant, 13.7% Catholic, and 19.6% other Christian), and followers of other religions were 1.4%.] The core north is largely Muslim, there are large numbers of both Muslims and Christians in the Middle Belt, including the Federal Capital Territory. In the west of the country, especially in the Yorubaland, the population is said to be evenly divided between Muslims and Christians, while in the southeastern regions are predominantly Christians with widespread traditional beliefs, Catholics, Anglicans, and Methodists are the majority with few traditional beliefs, while the Niger Delta region is mainly Christian.[ This is extracted from Wikipedia) GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT.

I DONT KNOW WHY WE ALL ARE WASTING OUR TIME ON THIS ISSUE, THE MUSLIM LEADERS HAVE ALREADY SAID THAT THEY WILL NEVER ALLOWED THEIR PEOPLE TO BANK THEIR MONEY ON THE EXITING ONES AND THEY NEED THEIR OWN MUSLIM BANK.....IN A WAY THEY ARE CALLING FOR THE DIVISION OF THIS COUNTRY WHICH WILL BE THE BEST THING THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN TO NIGERIA.......WE SHOULD GIVE THEM THEIR WISH AND THIER OWN COUNTRY TOO WITHOUT NO FEAR....IF FEAR IS CULTIVATED IT WILL BECOME STRONGER, BUT IF FATH IS CULTIVATED IT WILL ACHIVE MASTERY........NEVER LET UR SENSE OF MORALS GET IN THE WAY OF DOING WHAT IS RIGHT....NIGERIA WILL BE BETTER OFF IF GIVEN NORTHERN MUSLIMS THEIR OWN COUNTRY......DO NOT SEEK TO FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE WISE. SEEK WHAT THEY SOUGHT........
