yea compliment her first the let her knows that the soup is watery or not sweet.i do it alot

i will simply and quietly arrange for her Mom to visit us and let her eat the food prepared by my wife, She is the only person that will tell it to her face irrespective of my presence.......chekena!!!

"Honey the Soup was nice, but would have been best if this and this was added!". Believe me She would try harder next time, and when she does, Say something like
"Yeah that's It! You are getting it now, but u still forgot this and this!

You alone can Encourage your wife to be a better Cook!

i totally agree with you bro, but you know,sometimes compliments don't work,there are certain types of women who dont care what kind of food their men should eat rather than what they eat,so the best way here is to be straight, telling them in a way that will not bring a misunderstanding between you,i think no one like creating or  bringing problems to his life....This should not be a point of misunderstanding if the couples are really christian believers!!!
