Linabelle at 16-08-2011 06:05 PM (13 years ago) (f) Marriage is not meant for everyone. you can be equally useful to the society without having to tie the knot with some1. But in Africa it is a taboo if a woman is not married and I think this is one of the reasons why women become so desperate to find a husband and in the process fall victim to marriage of bondage, and which oftentimes they cannot get out of for fear of being stigmatised and so end up living a lifeless life without joy. If you are lucky to find your SOULMATE...then marriage is for you so you go right ahead and live a happy fulfilled life with your family. Posted: at 16-08-2011 06:05 PM (13 years ago) | Newbie | |

Celestial1 at 16-08-2011 06:42 PM (13 years ago) (f) No, marriage is not compulsory for everyone. If it was then the very creator of the Christian faith would have been married. Everyone keep quoting the Bible and referencing God, but Jesus never married. If marriage was compulsory then Jesus would have set the example by marrying himself. Paul, one of the premier writers of the New Testament never married. Marriage is compulsory for the raising of children. Outside of having a family, I really do not see the necessity of marriage. Except, that there is also an economic benefit to marriage, two average incomes can go farther than just one, so ppl who want to go further in the world and have access to a better quality of life should probably marry to someone who they can merge incomes with and increase their financial benefits together.
