State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ben Ugwuegbulam, told Vanguard that the robbers opened fire on a police patrol vehicle and a gun battle ensued. He said two of the robbers were shot dead and their rifles recovered.
In Asaba, Delta State, detectives from the state Police Command recovered the head of the housewife who was recently beheaded at Bomadi area of the state.
State Police Command’s spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka, said, weekend: “The head of the victim had been recovered under a palm tree in the bush. It was neatly wrapped in a polythene bag.
“It was recovered following the confession of one of the suspects who took our men to the spot.”
The beheaded housewife, identified as Mrs. Truserefa College, was said to have gone into Olomu bush to pick fruits but never came home alive. A search party organised by her husband led to the discovery of the headless body.
In Port Harcourt, Ugwuegbulam said: “Along Omagwa-Ozuoha Road, two robbers, who robbed villagers and vehicles travelling from Port Harcourt to Owerri, sustained fatal injuries in a gun battle with Police patrol team at Omagwa Road. Two guns were recovered from the hoodlums who were rushed to the hospital where they were confirmed dead. We are on the trail of the others who fled.”
If our police force can leave innocent road users alone and work this way...I believe we will applaud them. But dis is just a mere dream. 9ja Police will always be the same.
