i am not experienced but i can give a word...it possible she made a bet with her friends.its also posible that she wants you to officially ask her out and not just continue from where she started but doesnt know how to say it because she doesnt trust her instincts about your feelings.maybe she sees youas a role model and wants to get close.....funny enough she may assume that getting close to you is her chance of getting to your class...about  the phone call i assume its just formings or she is trying to pass any one of the assumptions stated
