An explosion damaged a mosque early Saturday in a town in Nigeria’s southern oil rich Niger Delta, police and a government source said.

“There was an incident in Sapele,… several persons were injured, but no deaths,” a government official who asked not to be named told AFP.

Delta State police spokesman Charles Muka dismissed the explosion as an “internal fire incident” and said only one person was wounded.

“Only one person sustained injuries,” said Muka. He could not ascertain how many worshippers were inside the mosque at the time of the blast.

“It was not a bomb, we suspect an internal fire. There is no trace of a bomb blast,” he said.

This is very sad. It played into the hands of those terrorist
Boko Haram. Now Boko Haram will say, "the Christians also
bombed Muslim mosque so we are equal in committing horrible
crimes against innocent people"
Those people that attacked the mosque in Sapele were perhaps
the most foolish people ever. The act is completely senseless.
They are not different forBoko Haram. They are both terrorist
and extremist criminals that needed to be caught and punished severely.
Just as the people who were attacked at St Theresa Church In Madalla
are innocent so were the children (ages 5 to 7) at the Mosque.

An eye for an eye does not solve any problem. Boko Haram wants
to start a religious war and tear our country apart. We must not
allow that to happen. The fools that bombed the Mosque are actually
helping Boko Haram achieve their number one goal.

We should all be angry at the this cowardly act, just as we were for
the Christmas Day church bombing.

That's true Dan_fulani, we should all condemn this act. Now is the time to sit up but the so called nothern elders are scared of this terrorist group and will not say a word instead they are backing them so they 'll not see them as enemy of Islam.
We should all come together to tell the northerners to be calm and happy for other region to rule this nation. They've been ruling and no grudges held or attacks carried to jeopardise their tenure then. Why now?
No one was born to rule they are just opportuned to rule.

Let's find the Boko boiz ourselves and stop hitting back @ the innocents.
