MrZack at 3-01-2012 12:05 PM (12 years ago) (m) i think the president is ill advice (surrounded by bad advisers). Removing the subsidy at this time is a wrong calculation. Most families before now find it hard to have 3 square meals, paying school fees, transportation etc. The govt is looking at it from saving 1trillion, but not how it's policies affects the poor man. If our refineries are working we should not be talking about any subsidy removal. Furthermore, Our dearest PDP have squandered the nations resources in the name of conducting 2011 elections. so the best thing is to force the subsidy pill down every body's throat whether good or bad. Come to think of it, the cost of running govt in Nigeria is just something else. Barack Obama US president earns $400,000 per annum while our own dearest David mark earns $3,000,000 per annum. Is nigeria richer than the US? Govt should explore other means of raising money and not causing hardship for the poor masses trying to pass through each day. tyris2727 at 3-01-2012 12:28 PM (12 years ago) (f) Oh Yels!!! Things are goin to be tough in the next 18 to 24 months! The Govt. is saying those benefitting from fuel subsidy and fuel smuggling CANNOT BE TOUCHED! so Nigerian Masses should sacrifice. My take is this; if poor Nigerians are goin to do some sacrificing, then all top govt. officials starting from Mr Preseident should also sacrifice there irrelevant expenditure (from business trips , seminars they dont need, health care abroad, orisirisi allowances etc) The poor should not be the only ones suffering, PRESEIDENTS, SENATORS , MINISTERS etc who dont buy fuel should also sacrifice someting one way or the other. To be honest we should accept it and carry on the country need to grow as long as the profits are spent in the right places and not stolen. Posted: at 3-01-2012 01:06 PM (12 years ago) | Upcoming | |
