Soldiers at a checkpoint in Kaduna on Monday afternoon reportedly fired on a car carrying a director in the state civil service.

Online medium, saharareporters, said the driver of the car declined to stop at a military checkpoint near Government House, Kaduna. The soldiers then mistook the occupants for suicide bombers and fired at the car.

No deaths or injuries were recorded in the incident.

Pandemonium ensued after the shooting as rumours spread that Boko Haram militants made a failed atempt to invade Government House.

The latest incident comes a few days after Boko Haram suicide bombers set off bombs at the headquarters of the One Mechanised Division, Kaduna and Kawo flyover.
