President Goodluck Jonathan last night fired back at a group of Northern Progressives who had earlier accused him of plotting to secure a "third Term" with the Justice Alfa Belgore Committee, warning them to desist from deliberately distracting his Government , and wondering why he should be concerned about a third term bid  when in actual sense, he is still serving his first Term.

The Northern Group under the aegis of Coalition of Northern Leaders had earlier on thursday in Abuja, accused the President of tenure elongation tendencies with the setting up of the Justice Alfa Belgore Committee on Constitution Review. The Group in a Communique issued after an elaborate Meeting of Stakeholders and read by its Leader and convener Dr. Junaid Mohammed, has raised an alarm of sinister intent of the Presidency to advance his third term bid, and vowing to stop him at all cost.

The Group also faulted the present revenue allocation formula, claiming it is even a greater disservice to the Oil producing States, as it puts so much wealth on the hands of their Governors who he claimed  cannot manage them.

"Indigenes of the Oil producing States have become victims because the revenue acruing to their States are far beyond what their Governors can manage", the Communique reads.

The Group further  carpeted the 13percent derivation policy calling it a counter-productive one. It further demystified its stand by saying that the policy encourages hyper-inflation in the benefiting States, their neighbours and the entire Country.

"This Law as it exists is a violation of a subsisting judgement by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, a fact openly admitted to by the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

"The revenue allocation Law violates the International Law of Sea Convention, and should therefore be repelled".

The Group also charged the Government to revoke all running contracts for Oil Blocks and Oil lifting, while urging the her  to totally and comprehensively review the importation of all refined products as well as the immediate  arrest and prosecution of  all those involved in Oil racketing, bunkery and running of illegal Refineries.

They expressed their readiness to mobilize the rest of the Country to foil President Jonathan's 7yrs tenure in 2015 which they alleged he intends to actualize using the Belgore Committee.

"We will mobilize the entire Country with the North as its head, to rise to oppose the tenure elongation for the President"

In a response through his Spokeman, Dr. Rueben Abati, President Jonathan said he is rather focusing on governance and remained committed to his transformation agenda. He said, he refused to be distracted by those playing the politics of succession.

"It is evident that the Belgore Committee was set up to look at the outcomes of previous political conferences and recommendations, and I am not aware of any report submitted anywhere making any recommendations. We should expect that people who claim to be major stakeholders in the Nigerian Project, when they make contributions, their contributions will show commonsense and decency. Comments on the reports of the Belgore Committee that has not been concluded and a report that has not yet been submitted will amount to witchcraft, if you like sorcery, and it is therefore curious and entirely mischievous. As far as I know, the Belgore Committee has not concluded its work" he said.

That's my man, you go man and let them know, afterall they've been in that post for over 40 years. And they find it too hard to leave Aso Rock when they got the post......Gen Gowon: Aug1.1966 - Jul.28.1975 He was incharge during the civil war....... Gen Murtala Muhammed: Jul.29.1975 - Feb.13.1976 He took over from Gowon under a military coup but he ruled for every short time before his brother Dimka killed him under a military coup...... Gen Obasanjo: Feb 14.1976 - Sept.30.1979 He came  in for three years as a second in commander and then handed back to them..... Shehu Shagari: Oct.1.1979 - Dec.31.1983 He was the first civilian ruler after the civil war but he couldn't serve his second term bcos he was overthrew by his brother Buhari......  Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari: Jan 1.1984 - Aug.26.1985 Whats goes around comes around, He was overthrew by his own brother in a very short time in a military coup....... Gen. Babangida: Aug.27.1985 - Aug.26.1993 He came in and thought that Aso Rock is his final ever lasting home after serving 8 years he refused to leave the Aso Rock by nullifying the election won by Abiola. Under his rule, alot of people died whoever he thought that was planing a coup for him. Under his rule, that was the birth of briberies and corruptions, But after 8 years the hit was hot for him to continue, then he handed over to his brother....... Ernest Shonekan: Aug.27.1993 - Nov.16.1993. This man didn't have much time to steal much like his brothers befor he was overthrew by his brother Abacha......  Gen. Sani Abacha: Nov.17.1993 - June.7.1998 Another man who wanted to be like Idi Amin, blood sucker but he was killed by his brothers....... Gen Abdulsalam abubakar: June.8.1998 - May.28.1999 His brothers handed him their home, the Aso Rock over to him and he ate his own share and handed back to their closest friend Obasanjo, who they got it from and they believe they will get it back from him again...... Civilian Obasanjo: May.29.19999 - May.28.2007, Hahahahaha old soldiers never die, he did what he did and handed back to his friends........ Umaru Yaradua: May 2007 - 2010, He just there, health couldn't allowed him to do much but his wife and his cabels took over the Aso Rock while this man was serious ill. The wife took Aso Rock over her dying husband, she doesn't care about her husband's health bcos she don't want to leave Aso Rock. The vise president was nobody to them, she said the only time she'll leave Aso rock will be on her husband death and it happened as she said it. They found it hard to leave Aso Rock when they are there........ I dont blame Jonathan for his second term bcos the oil is from his place and this is the first ever in the Aso Rock for his people..........
