DREADED sect, Boko Haram, has killed a seven-year-old girl, Safia Hassan, in Potiskum, Yobe State. The sect also killed a politician, a policeman and another person in Borno State.
But the Joint Task Force (JTF) also shot dead three members of the group. The seven-year-old girl was reported to have been shot dead when her father, a policeman, who was the target of the group, escaped.
The members of the group reportedly stormed the home of the policeman while he was with his family members.
The spokesman for the Yobe State police command, Toyin Gbadegeshin, said: “They fired shots at him while sitting in the midst of his family.
“He managed to avoid the bullets and scaled the fence.
“The gunmen shot dead his seven-year-old-daughter and seriously injured another 12-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old-son who are now in hospital.”
Also, members of the sect also struck in Dikwa, a border town in Borno State, killing three persons.
They were said to have attacked a police station, a church and a bank at about 1.30 a.m., on Monday
The spokesman for the JTF, Lieutenant-Colonel Sagir Musa, however, said three members of the sect were also killed during the attack.
Musa said: “Three Boko Haram terrorists were killed and many escaped with bullet wounds.”
