As the grip of fuel scarcity tightens in certain regions of the country, residents in the Sokoto metropolis are facing exorbitant prices for petrol, with some black market vendors charging as much as N2,000 to N2,500 per litre.

The dire situation has left many residents grappling with the economic fallout, prompting calls for government intervention to alleviate the burden on citizens.

Channels Television gathered firsthand accounts from Sokoto residents, who voiced their concerns over the escalating fuel prices and the adverse impact on daily life and business operations.

Expressing their distress, residents highlighted the detrimental effects of the fuel scarcity on various sectors, citing disruptions to business activities and a general decline in economic productivity.

The prevailing black market price of N2,500 per litre has exacerbated the challenges faced by residents, leading to widespread frustration and hardship.

In light of these developments, citizens are urging the government to take swift action to address the root causes of the fuel scarcity and implement measures to stabilize the situation.

As Sokoto residents grapple with the repercussions of the fuel crisis, they remain hopeful that concerted efforts by the authorities will bring relief and restore normalcy to their lives.
