Police in Edo state are said to be on the trail of the abductors of the wife and daughter of Iyare Motors boss, Abel Omoruyi.
The victims were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen on Tuesday night in Benin, the state capital.
According to the state police public relations officer, DSP Moses Eguavoen, the duo were kidnapped at Ugbor area of Benin on their way home after business.
He said the police are doing all they can to ensure that the victims are released to their family unhurt.
“We are doing everything to rescue the victims unhurt and to arrest the perpetrators,” he said.
He said that all black spots had been put under surveillance to block possible escape routes.
A source who spoke on condition of anonymity, told NAN that the abductors were armed with sophisticated weapons and were yet to make contact with the family of the victims.
