Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, has apologized for his touchline bust-up with Jose Mourinho and says he was provoked by the Chelsea manager.

Both managers engaged in a small scuffle during the Blues’ 2-0 win over the Gunners at Stamford Bridge last week. after Gary Cahill was booked for a tackle on Alexis Sanchez.

“We gave a little bit too much importance to this matter. I did not enter the Chelsea zone,” he told Telefoot.

“I shouldn’t have reacted like that. I regret every sign of violence and I apologize.

“Did Mourinho taunt me? It felt like that.”

Mourinho, who previously refused to comment on his ‘specialist in failure’ remarks, also dismissed the question when he was asked.

He told Telefoot: “Wenger? I don’t have words to explain what everybody saw on the [television] pictures.”
