GRUESOME: Cultists Kill Native Doctor, 3 Pregnant Women, 8 Others In Delta

 A group of men believed to be cultists had on Thursday, January 22, 2015  murdered about 12 persons, including a native doctor, three pregnant women, and eight others in Agbor and Boji-boji Owa communities of Delta State.



According to Leadership, the killings have heightened fear and tension in the communities, as lorry loads of armed policemen and other security agents have swarmed both communities.

Residents had today, Friday, January23, 2015 disclosed that the attack which started three years ago and escalated last month was in connection with tussle for power between various cult groups in the communities.

Sources revealed that over 26 people had been killed during their numerous fall outs often accompanied by rape of innocent young ladies and careless shootings.

Among those killed by the cultists was a native doctor who reportedly leased his shrine to a rival cult group and also prepared charms for themseverally.

An octogenarian, Alice Igbenoba, who claimed that two of her children were killed by cultists said, “I want the state government to come to our aid. We are tired of these killings, especially at night, when they begin to shoot guns and, sometimes, kill innocent persons”.

The state police spokesperson DSP Celestina Kalu, disclosed that over 26 suspected members have been arrested, adding that the police have employed adequate security measures with random arrests of people within the town.

Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased victims were deposited in various mortuaries in state owned hospitals.
