BREAKING: Jega Suspends Result Declaration, To Re-Convene At 8PM

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it necessary to delay the declaration of results of the 2015 presidential election till 8:00 p.m. on Monday when it must have received the results from all parts of the country.



INEC Chairman Attahiru Jega shifted the press conference at which the results are been read out in Abuja at about 4.15 p.m. local time.

Jega said the delay was necessary to allow results from 18 other states flow in so the Returning Officers (ROs) would reel them out once for all this evening.

Results from Ekiti, Enugu, Kogi, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Nasarawa, Ondo and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have already been announced.

President Jonathan of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party and Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are the major contenders of the polls which held on Saturday and Sunday.

The USA and UK have warned the incumbent against editing the original figures of the elections for which card readers and voter cards were deployed for the first time to mitigate electoral fraud.

@franel UK and USA never called Jonathans name or party

they said they suspect foul play in the election against both partys.
