King Sunny Ade for World Cup

King of World Beat and the first home based Nigerian to be nominated twice at the Grammy awards, will be in South Africa for the World cup.

But he will not be involved in the round leather game, instead, he is going to the former apartheid enclave to do what he knows how to do best— sing and dance.  Apart from his expected performance as a solo artiste, the Ondo State born high chief will also join some other Africa’s A-list musicians to perform the official theme song for the Mundial.

Currently in the United States of America where sources informed he had gone to produce his own version of the theme song, we gathered reliably that King Sunny Ade will be rendering his version of the theme song in the Yoruba language.

“Before he jetted out of the country last month, the King had to work night and day to translate his own version of the song into Yoruba, and now he is in America to work on the song”, our source gushed.
