The result sent Inter Milan through to the quarter-finals 3-1 on aggregate and Drogba was sent off towards the end of a bad-tempered game.
But the Ivory Coast’s international believes referee Wolfgang Stark made the wrong call, following his clash with Thiago Motta.
Drogba said: "It's really difficult to take. Yes, I stepped on his calf but I don't think I deserved to be sent off.
"I guess these things happen and the only thing that matters is that we are out of the competition." Drogba endured a frustrating night as Chelsea failed to break down Jose Mourinho's men.
But he was quick to praise old boss, Mourinho, for ensuring Inter stopped the hosts from playing to their strengths.
The striker added: "To be out like this is very disappointing.
"But at the same time, I think Inter Milan was very good and played very well.
