Basking in the euphoria of its success, the Kaduna Zonal office of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday, revealed that in the last seven months, it has recovered over N227 million in its operations. A statement issued by the Head of Operations of the commission in the zone, Ibrahim Bappa, gave a breakdown of monies recovered as N221,336,884.06 and $17,600 (about N6.4 million) recovered from persons under investigation by the commission. According to him, under the period under review, the commission also screened 865 suspects within the period from the 220 number of petitions it received. He added that 130 petitions had been referred for investigation, while 10 cases were currently under prosecution. Bappa disclosed that 80 suspects have been referred to sister agencies for further investigations. He praised the judiciary in the state for its cooperation with the EFCC in its operations, adding that interim forfeiture orders had been obtained from the court in respect of some of the assets acquired illegally by some individuals. According to him, the N49 million recovered at Kaduna International Airport has also been temporarily forfeited to the Federal Government. He said: “The zone also wishes to seize this opportunity to inform members of the public to be wary of fake facebook accounts of the acting chairman of the commission fraudulently designed to dupe unsuspecting victims.”

Good job but seems incomplete  job  why not tell Nigerians the  names of the looters  and where is this  money at the moment  and  why is govt not spending the money to fix the immediate problems face the nation eg electricity , Nigerians need to know the name of those involved to avoid voting them into political offices again in  future
