Nigeria Police Force Ranked Worst In The World In New Global Reports, Police React (See List)

​The Nigerian Police Force has rejected a report obtained from the 2016 World Internal Security & Police Index which ranks the force as the worst Police system in the world.

The report places the Singapore Police Force as the best in the world followed by Finland, and then Denmark. Nigeria’s police force is ranked worst on the index followed by DR Congo, Kenya, Uganda and Pakistan. Countries with protracted civil conflicts were not ranked on the index.

The Nigerian Police Force has however rejected the report. In a statement signed by Police PRO Jimoh Moshood, the report is described as “entirely misleading, a clear misrepresentation of facts and figures and essentially unempirical, considering the area of coverage of the report”. The statement reads:

Please do not castigate the Nigerian Police......
the system is rigged.........
if the Government pays them well, they would not resort to such activities...
It is the system that forces them to act as such......
EVERY HUMAN BEING HAS A MORAL COMPASS....BUT WHEN IT HAS BEEN POLARIZED, IT TAKES A LIFE OF ITS OWN.........
THE NIGERIAN POLICE IS NOT TO BLAME,  IT IS THE POLITICIANS AND THE HEAD OF THE SNAKE THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.... THEY HAVE TO EAT TOO.....
THEY ALL HAVE FAMILIES.....
THEIR BLOOD IS AS RED AS YOURS....
BUT WHEN OGA SAYS......HUM YOU HAVE TO DONATE 5000 NAIRA EVERY DAY WITHOUT QUESTION, THEN YOU GOT TO TOW THE LINE......
THAT IS THE REALITY OF ALL PUBLIC SERVICE IN NIGERIA......ARMY, NAVY CUSTOMS...ETC
AND YOU KNOW WHAT, THE PRESIDENT IS AWARE OF SUCH ACTIVITIES, BUT CHOOSES TO TURN A BLIND EYE, WHICH MAKES MATTERS WORSE........HE WAS A MILITARY MAN...HE ROSE FROM THE RANKS
IF THE GOVERNMENT SEE FIT TO INVEST HEAVILY IN PUBLIC SERVICE WAGES......THINGS WOULD CHANGE........LIKE I SAID WE ALL HAVE A MORAL COMPASS, BUT BETWEEN THE POLITICIANS AND ALL THE HEAD OF SERVICES THEY ALL KEEP OF BLAMING THE OTHER FOR WHAT IS SO PLAIN FOR US ALL TO SEE........AND THE BEAT GOES ON......AND ON.
