Kelvin Sean has accused Skales of fraud.
According to the singer, he flew to Lagos from Toronto to get Skales to work with him on his single, Down Low, in 2014. It was a paid feature recorded in Lekki, and after the song was done, Skales contacted him the following day, asking for help on the song Shake Body.
Kelvin Sean claims Skales was stuck on the first part of the song at that time and needed Kelvin’s help. The Canada-based Nigerian contributed by writing the second part and did not ask for a financial reward because Skales had just been dropped by Banky W’s EME.
“I didn’t even ask him for credit. Instead I offered him my friendship. A friendship he was always fake about,” says the aggrieved singer who said their relationship went down the hill after the Nigeria-based singer colluded with Samklef to swindle him.
“Samklef told me he was going to contract the video Shoot for the Song in which I featured Skales to @unlimitedla. I paid him the sum total of N1.2 million all cost included,” Kelvin Sean said, adding, “On the day of the shoot, Samklef told me he was going to direct the video himself, and that Unlimited LA wasn’t available to direct the video shoot. Reluctantly, I agreed to it. And the end result was a video I turned down; due to it being very much below standard. I asked for my refund.”
He continued, “Samklef wrote me a bounced cheque and till date hasn’t refunded my N1.2 million. Skales says i just became his enemy, but in truth he never treated me as a friend. Always on that fakeness. ”
The Canada-based artist has published the details of his chart with Skales, even though the Shake Body singer did not admit to the scam.
And why he is publishing all of this details now?
“As you can see from Skales’ responses in our chat on WhatsApp, he believes I don’t have a voice; however, I’m no pushover,” he said.
