Zie this credit crunch has just started.
Although the share market and banks have guaranteed savings im sure it will crash at least a few more times.
Lots has to do with the American housing market. As the banks did loan to much to people who couldn't afford to pay it back in so called low mortgages to start of with and then coming into full affect after a few year they took them out.
That will peak next year so it will be worse for a while to come.
This week there was a program on tv here it was filmed in 2007 it was a eye opener indeed.
I give you the link http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/content/2008/s2387463.htm
Its wort wile watching as its not bayest

The credit crunch has started to roll big time and the world is on the edge of a financial disaster with unemployment rising so the economy will keeps rolling down for a while.

Godsson as the markets will keep crashing the plight of the starving people in the world will be put on the back burner as it only will become talk.
It is happening already aid is getting scarcer by the day.

But having said that if country's like the Congo and Zimbabwe can provide people with weapons they could also could try to feed there own.

Helga U are right once again. This crisis is moving towards being a disaster & is taking away attention from issues concerning the welfare of the "wretched of the Earth".Now issues Like the world Food Crisis have taken back Bonner. But who will blame the rich countries of the world? They have to take care of their own internal contradictions & problematics.
Since most of the African countries have decided to either invest in civil conflicts & corruption, they dont ve any justification to ask the G8 * EU for any help.I just pity the generations to come.I am already 25,if I die now,at least,I can point to some mile stones in my very young life. But with the unsustainable way governance is in Africa & the 3rd world,I doubt if the youths of tomorrow can say same,if care is not taken today.

This crisis seem gloomy everyday. If we think about the statistics of hungry people in Nigeria(a relatively stable polity)alone, then we can appreciate the anormity of this crisis. If things continue at present rate, mankind might be heading towards hunger induced extinction.God forbid.

Maybe guys in our next life this world will be a better one. So nobody will have problems with there skin colour or race. There believes or no believes maybe this generation will do better then the one before.

At least i hope so as nothing ever seems to change.

The hippies had a go at it but look they are of age now and not much difference there.
It was all peace and love but when the big man comes on the top he changes and forgets about his/her ideals. And every thing seems to be phyuked up for now.

Our parents did fight in wars for what im sure they will ask that question when they will look back. They fought for a better world and freedom and maybe in there eyes it was for a little time.

i know its a sad story im writing here but it just the facts how the world turns into circles.
The next generation comes and blames the one before and nothing nothing really changes at all.

I concur. No matter how sinister reality may be or appear,we should always capture it as it is,instead of fantasizing.Utopia wont take us far.

My brother.Nigerians are no longer the world's happiest folks.Iceland has taken that title from us.The world is now coming to grip with our material realities. We no long suffer & smile. The level of poverty, deprivation & unemployment does not warrant that foolery we call happiness anymore.

Today my heart bled when I saw people in Haiti,on CNN, struggling against brutal odds to get food. The level of  desperation they exercised is beyond anything I've seen. There is an emerging global crisis that the World is ignoring. As the saying goes,"an hungry man is an angry man".If necessary precautionary measures are not taking now to improve the lives of the world's hungry, there would be a revolution of the Hungry People of the Earth. This is based on the psychological "Frustration-Aggression Theory".This theory states that a high level of frustration lead people to aggressive behavioural patterns.

I think the rulers of this world(US-EU)should act now before things get out of hand. What do U think?
THANK YOU.

the rulers of the world are not US and UN they r just 2 organisations by which the Bilderberg group

Yes,it's unfortunate. But we also had a hand in the mess. This is more true in Africa. The people dont resist Blind thieves that rule them. These men have turned countries into their bedrooms. We in Africa have a very high tolerance rate for evil.So even when people openly rig elections,we celebrate them.So what do U expect.Mismanagement & sufferings.

The huge sum that Nigerian govrnment saw in oil products made them to aboundon agriculture of which we are known for. now they are clamouring about agriculture again because  oil has dissapointed them, but heard it being that our leaders were not greedy, we will not feel this economic meltdown the way we are feelyn it now, just within few months, many nigerians has lost billions in nigerian stock exchange. And i begin to wonder wen will we get out of this.

Niger delta region is not what to write home about cos even if they want to farm now, they will not see fertile land to farm cos of the harzards that the so called oil has caused on their land.
The earlier our governors embark on mechanised farming the better for us. as the saying goes a hungry man is an angry man.

Methinks the current global Financial crisis and the sharp and steady fall in the price of Oil is a blessing in disguise to this country. The only problem is, our blind rulers will not see that this is the time to pay more attention to AGRICULTURE & FOOD SECURITY. This is our opportunity to diversify our economy by looking at other sectors. & as far as I am concern, large scale mechanize farming like that stupid, old foolish thief called Obasanjo is running in Otta is what we need now. Any country that wants to be a power in the international system must secure an appreciable degree of internal FOOD PRODUCTION. And this is where Agriculture comes in.

It's funny how nothing has been done to diversify our economy. It's equally appalling to note that huge sums of money is been invested in corruption, while the real sector of the economy suffers. How can a country escape poverty and hunger, when it's government does not care about the education of its citizens? That is the pathetic Nigerian experience. Until every people in the country starts looking withing themselves and cave niches for themselves, in Agriculture or other things, hunger & anger will persist.

Thanks man! However, we don't have to wait for God's help. We should do something for ourselves.
