Child rape is rampant in this society of ours, no matter how often we try to deny it. It’s too present. What’s even scarier is how, when it happens, we try to sweep it under the rug.

A video shot by the European Union in Nigeria as part of a campaign to end gender based violence in Nigeria, shows an 11 year old Nigerian girl sharing chilling details of how an older man in her area raped her repeatedly after offering her N50.
In the video, the little girl narrated how a man named Atuga initially asked her out, raped her and how people wanted her to lie that it was her father that had been molesting her.
