Taiwo who had a poor outing with the Eagles at the World Cup has a contract with Marseille till 2012 but he itching to leave after six years at Stade Velodrome.
Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid have had a €5million bid for the player turned down, and Taiwo now wants to secure regular first-team football. “If I stay in Marseille I want to play week in week out. I am a football player not someone to sit on the bench and get paid,” he told skysports.com.
“My ambition has always been to play at the top level. Spurs are a fantastic team in the best league.
“Atletico Madrid is a very good team as well in the Champions League, so I would be interested by those two teams.
“Marseille is my team at the moment and I have a contract with them, so let’s wait and see. In the next two weeks things might move on.”
Taiwo was forced to settle for a place on the bench during the second-half of last season after manager Didier Deschamps opted to play Gabriel Heinze in his position.
