Yakubu overtakes Siasia, threatens Odegbami as Nigeria all time Highest goal Sco

The biggest challenge that new Super Eagles head coach, Samson Siasia, will be facing is turning the erratic side into a deadly attacking team that was once the hallmark of Nigeria national teams.

An analysis of all the strikers that Nigeria ever paraded sadly reveals that the past is better than the present. In an initial analysis of Nigeria’s top 10 scorers of all-time, only two players of the current generation of Super Eagles make the list.

They are Aiyegbeni Yakubu and Obafemi Martins who rank third and fourth respectively. Even then, except they have prolonged international career, neither will be able overtake the long retired Rashidi Yekini whose 37 goals from 60 appearances, make him the hottest striker Nigeria has ever produced.
