I’m not sure if this has been discussed here before but I wanted to know what people thought of arranged marriages. What you do it? Have people attempted to do it for you??

hmmmmm.for me i dont see tht as sumthin bad,aslong as they both end up lovin each other.i mean if the arranged marrige can bring everlastin happiness(till death do both path) and not still both get bored than its cool.and aslong as the arranged marriage is not forced but willinglly agreed between both.becos even the unarranged ones end up in a bad condition.

One of my co-workers (her mom is American and her dad is Nigerian) had an arranged marriage. I was alittle shocked when she told me. He is still in Nigeria and she is working on getting him here. They got married last yr and she went home (to Nigeria) for a traditional wedding and things. I don't know what I think about it. They talked on the phone and exchange pictures and things but they didn't actually meet until she went home for the marriage.
My parents get lots of pictures from family friends of men they think I would be interested in. I never gave it a thought b/c I don't want my parents doing something like that for me. I had a family friend approach me about her brother and I did give him a call but right off, he talked about courting/marriage.....I was like no way.....would not start a r/ship with marriage on the mind b/c if it doesn't lead to that I don't want to be obligated to stay if I want to leave.
