The African Independent Television and Raypower Radio station studios in Jos, Plateau State, were on Sunday razed by fire
Eye witnesses said that the fire started at about 9.55 a.m. from the ninth floor of the Joseph Gomwalk House where the media organisation is located.
Mrs. Folashade Oshodi, an AIT presenter who was on duty at the time of the incident told the News Agency of Nigeria that she was presenting a programme in the studio when the fire started.
She said, “The person coming in to take over from me by 10 a.m. suddenly rushed into the studio while I was presenting a programme to tell me that the building was on fire.
“Immediately, he raised an alarm and the security guard, the engineer and myself tried to put off the fire but it soon overwhelmed us.
“At that point, we called the fire service but before they arrived, the whole floor was engulfed,’’ she said.

Oshodi said that the station’s transmitter as well as the radio and the television studios were completely burnt.
