The people of Bomadi, headquarters of Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, were on Monday thrown into mourning following the murder of a 45-year-old woman, Mrs. Trust-ere College, by a middle aged man.
Though reasons for the action were still unclear at the time of filing this report, the suspect identified as Mr. Friday Yobolo, was said to have trailed the victim to the bush where he eventually hacked her to death.
The news of the murder came as a shock to residents of the area who wore mournful looks gathered in small groups to discuss the incident.

However, the joint effort of operatives of the Joint Military Task Force and the police was said to have paid off they arrested the suspect, who eyewitnesses claimed, attempted to escape from the town to avoid arrest.
A senior Police officer at the Bomadi Police Division, who did not want his name in print, said Yobolo had been arrested, adding that the matter had been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Division, Asaba for further investigations.
Sources close to the husband of the deceased, Mr. Bredan College, said the woman was killed at about 9am.
He said, “After Friday Yobolo had committed the crime in the forest, he came to town and boarded a motorbike to the General Hospital Bomadi, but the medical staff refused to attend to him because they were suspicious.
“So, when the husband of the deceased discovered the body of his wife near her farm he raised the alarm. It was with the help of the motorcyclists and the information from the hospital that led to the man’s arrest by the combined team of security agents.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Charles Muka, confirmed the murder, but said the motive behind Yobolo’s action was still unknown.
