The Baale and two others, Chief Adeyeye Ojediran, 72 and Chief Musa Lawal, 62, were arraigned on two-count charges of allegedly forging agreement document by thumb- printing late Baale of Koloko, Chief Lamidi Olasupo, and signing Fatai Yekini as witnesses in order to occupy the throne of Baale on rotation basis.
The offences allegedly committed on January 10, 1996 by the trio contravened sections 516 and 465, Cap 38, Vol. II Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria.
When the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges, their lawyer, Aare J. B. Lawson, who led Mr S.B. Aladejobi, Mr W.T. Bello, Miss B. Salmonu and Miss A. Olateju to grant them bail assured that they would not jump bail.
The judge, Mrs Tijani Durosaro therefore granted them bail with two sureties for each accused and that the each surety must worth N100,000 and with means of identification traceable within Ibadan.
The case was adjourned till 24 January, 2012 for hearing. The prosecutor was Corporal Oloruko Oba Bola (Mrs) while Mr Yinka Ojo represented Mr G.A. Sunmonu, the lawyer to Koloko community.
Sunday Tribune had in the edition of November 6, 2011 reported the crisis brewing in the community over allegations of forgery levelled against the Baale.
