The decay of a nation - until we stop thinking and acting like the people of old, Nigeria will NEVER move forward. This tribal sentiments have eaten deeply into every facet of our nation - politics, job search, marriages, school admission, religion, name it. Even abroad, we prefer to cluster with our so-called tribes. Guess why the UK, US and other "developed nations" will remain developed. They speak one language, so there's nothing like tribe tearing them apart or making them loose focus. Coincidentally, the biggest fraud in the US 2 years ago was committed by an ibo boy. But, unfortunately too, the biggest fraud in the UK was committed by a yoruba guy and he was sentenced about october last year. The funny thing about this is when a Nigerian looks bad in the news, abroad, the whites see him/her as your kinsman. It doesn't matter where they come from. You can't get defensive.

Concerning the issue on ground, this boy is too young to be mixed up in this kind of thing. He has just barely passed his teens. It tells you more about the rot in our country, how our leaders and parents have failed and how the youth have misplaced their priorities in the quest for easy wealth. He should be in school. If he has truly contacted AIDS, can you imagine the waste of life and manpower the country needs to realise all our many problems?? We should be praying for our nation with bad news such as this, not gratifying it with insults on any tribe. My opinion would have been the scrapping of all tribes so we can move forward.

When we see Nigerians who represent us well and are good in what they do, we should learn to appreciate them. I'm proud of her.
