A 23-year-old student, Solomon Oboh has allegedly committed suicide at Auchi Polytechnic in Etsako West local government area of Edo State.
It was gathered Obah, a National Diploma 1 student of Public Administration, was found dangling from the ceiling of his room on Friday night, September 10.

The student was said to have left a suicide note where he instructed that his mobile phone be given to one Sandra, his girlfriend, whom he begged for forgiveness in the note.
When contacted, the polytechnic spokesman, Mr. Mustapha Oshiobugie, confirmed the incident, but said he was yet to be briefed on the details.

The Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, has officially named the wife of late Prophet Temitope Balogun, aka T.B Joshua’s wife, Evelyn, as the new leader of the church.

SCOAN said the church activities would be under the guidance of God and leadership of Mrs Evlyn Joshua.

In a statement on its verified Facebook page, SCOAN urged members and followers to pray for Mrs Evelyn as she takes on her new role.

According to the statement: “Good Morning. We thank you for all your prayers and your love for the ministry since the glorious home call of our dear father, servant of the Most High God, Prophet T.B. Joshua.

Meanwhile, there have been reports of leadership tussle in the church following the death of TB Joshua.

The alleged tussle had led to the eviction of some disciples of the late prophet from the church premises.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested an immigrant from Benin Republic, Adamu Sabi Sime, for allegedly committing incest with his biological mother, Fati Sime.
NSCDC spokesman, Babawale Zaid Afolabi who disclosed this to newsmen, said the suspect allegedly had carnal knowledge of his biological mother and she produced three children for her son.
Babawale, said further checks revealed that “the younger brother of the suspect, who was also confirmed to be sleeping with the mother, is now at large.”

The spokesman disclosed that the mother and her two sons don’t have the necessary papers to stay in Nigeria.

“They have been handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, for background checks and further action,” he added.

Lanre Gentry, the estranged husband of popular actress, Mercy Aigbe, has said that there is no big deal in getting married again after seven years of being without a wife.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, the businessman said, “If a wife leaves one’s house for seven years, does the husband not deserve to marry another wife? My happiness is the most important thing. I love my wife and I’m very happy with the woman in my life now without creating unnecessary drama.  I am a Yoruba man and I don’t see any big deal in getting married again. I am not holding grudges against anyone. I love all my children and I like their mothers.

Gentry also debunked the reports that he had sold his hotel for N10m. He said, “How can I sell a hotel for N10m? I don’t need to respond to every report out there because I didn’t borrow money from anyone to start my business. A land in the vicinity of that hotel is sold for over N100m, so how could I sell my hotel for N10m? That is incredulous.”

Nigerian Fuji Icon Wasiu Alabi Odetola, is the latest grandfather in town after welcoming his grandchild.

The mother of the child, Pasuma's daughter, Oyindamola Odetola, recently got married to Olajuwon Bello in a colourful wedding in April. A few months after the couple welcomed their first child, making Pasuma the latest grandfather in town.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom said farmers should be allowed to carry AK-47 rifles so that they can defend themselves against criminal herdsmen.
Governor Ortom stated this while answering questions from newsmen at the Makurdi airport on his arrival for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) meeting in Abuja.

He said that a situation whereby herdsmen carried sophisticated weapons like the AK-47 rifle and farmers are asked to defend themselves with cutlass and Dane guns is unfair.
He said he was happy that the House Representative is working towards a legislation whereby every Nigerian will have weapons to defend themselves.

A 31-year-old Nigerian woman, Amenze Rita has allegedly been killed by her 61-year-old husband, Pierangelo Pellizzar, after she reportedly filed for divorce in Noventa Vicentina, Italy.
It was gathered that the suspect laid an ambush for Rita on Friday morning and shot her four times, killing her instantly in front of her colleagues in the parking lot of Mf Mushroom, a company where she worked.

After killing his wife, the Italian man reportedly fled the scene in a grey Jeep Cherokee, which was subsequently found abandoned at his brother’s residence.

The carabinieri are currently searching for the fleeing suspect, who was reportedly said to be armed and dangerous.

Italian journalists are reporting that Rita was murdered because she filed for a divorce after she returned from Nigeria a week ago.

It was further gathered that late Rita arrived in Italy in 2017 through Libya and got married to the Italian man in 2018.

Zamfara Governor, Bello Matawalle, says that the state government is no longer interested in holding a dialogue with bandits, noting that they had spurned the olive branch once extended to them.

He said in Gusau that instead, security forces would flush them out of the state.

“My administration will no longer grant amnesty to bandits as they have failed to embrace the peace initiative earlier extended to them,’’ the governor said, while addressing a congregation.

He urged residents to be patient and to support new security measures put in place to flush out bandits and their collaborators to restore peace in the state.

The governor said the barrage of attacks on bandits by security forces had made them to make a fresh overture to government seeking dialogue.
He said the bandits’ emissaries informed him that they had repented and would want to dialogue with government.

He noted that some of the bandits were running out of Zamfara to other states as a result of the new security measures introduced by the state government.

Matawalle warned politicians against giving any form of support to bandits, stressing that: “politicians should fear God and stop buying motorcycles to distribute to people who, in turn, sell to bandits to perpetuate their evil acts.’’

The governor said also that Zamfara government would prosecute any politician caught in the act.

The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that Zamfara had cut off food, petroleum products supply and other essential commodities from the reach of the bandits in their various camps.
The government had also incepted several vehicles conveying food, drinks and petroleum products to various bandits’ camps in the state.

The government said earlier that it had also arrested more than 100 violators of Gov. Matawalle’s Executive Order to restore law and order in the state.

Matawalle had established the Special Taskforce to enforce measures to address the lingering security challenges of mass kidnapping for ransom and cattle rustling in the state.

On Aug. 26, the governor signed an Executive Order suspending all weekly markets in Zamfara, banned bicycles and motorcycles from carrying more than one passenger and not more than three passengers in the case of tricycles.

There have been two major talking points surrounding Manchester United in the build-up to the visit of Newcastle United – Cristiano Ronaldo’s return and Fred’s status. While Ronaldo is set for his second debut for the Red Devils, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested that Manchester United have been preparing for the game without Fred.

That comes in contrast to a recent development, which claims that Premier League clubs are set to go against FIFA’s suspension of Brazilian players after they were not allowed to travel for the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers during the international break. Apart from Fred, Dean Henderson, Alex Telles and Marcus Rashford are certainly unavailable.
