Yes in as much as it has its bad side it can be used as a force for good.
Recently one my lecturers was embarrassed in a lecture hall for printing out and delivering a lecture from a he printed from the internet belonging to an American professor in biochemistry,he just downloaded the note without any adjustments to it and was reading it out when a student confronted him telling him that what he was delivering to us as if he was a Godsent to us was actually another man's sweat this the student proved by presenting his mobile phone with the web page displaying word to word what the man has been parading as his almighty lecture note...I think after that all his lazy types in my department wised up fast. :-)
