21  Forum / Sports / Saking Amodu was a mistake....Osaze on: 24-06-2010 08:49 PM
In a surprise turn-around, Osaze Odemwingie has said that it was a mistake to fire Shaibu Amodu and replace him with Lars Lagerback.

Odemwingie was one of the players who spoke up against Amodu at the African Nations Cup in Angola, leading to the axing of the former BCC Lions coach.

But after a disastrous World Cup where Nigeria finished bottom of a winnable group with just one point out of nine, the Lokomotiv Moscow forward said that it was a mistake to fire Amodu.

“They should not have fired Amodu. I think that was a mistake,” he said.Odewmingie went on to say that Nigeria did not have a team good enough to challenge the best.

“To be honest, we don’t have the team that can win the World Cup. If you go down to the roots, most of us, including myself, in our clubs we are not doing great.

“We are not like the big team we used to be, having players in the big clubs and coming here with the ambition to win the Cup. But definitely we could have

done much better.” Odemwingie also criticised coach Lars Lagerback’s selection and tactics, but says if the coach can learn from his mistakes, he would do better with the Super Eagles.

“I think the World Cup experience and being with us has given him some advantage over the next candidate.

“People learn from mistakes. If he takes the positives from this one and he feels good with working with Nigerian boys then yes, I think he should stay.”

“Three games three losses. I think a few things he did were big mistakes,” Odemwingie said,

“Like telling two strikers not to participate in defending.

“I think that is a big mistake with Nigerian football when we have one defensive midfielder and one creative in front of him. All our middle was open and that was the problem we had against Greece.

“Today the instruction was that three people did not have to participate in defence. I think that also was a big mistake.”

Odemwingie was reported to have erupted in the dressing room after the Greece loss, and explained that he had good reason to.

“Yeah I said to him that there are some key players in this team that he didn’t give enough playing time. And I was one of them. I said to him we have been here for a few years and we have qualified this team for the World Cup and he was putting us aside and it’s not fair.

“Some of us like myself and Martins are leaders in this team and we have been making the difference for the country and we needed to get more playing time and more chances to play.”

Odemwingie then suggested that his tirade may have been the reason he was left out of against Korea.

“It is possible that that’s why he didn’t play me today.”

Nigeria’s forward, Osaze Odemwingie, on Tuesday descended on Coach Lars Lagerback, saying the Swede 'made mistakes' and claimed a sense of injustice at not being given enough playing time at the World Cup.

Odemwingie also suggested that he was left out of the final game against Greece because of what he said. "Three games three losses. I think a few things he did were big mistakes," Odemwingie said: "Like telling two strikers not to participate in defending.

23  Forum / Sports / Government to disband Eagles on: 24-06-2010 08:36 PM
The Super Eagles squad that crashed out of the ongoing World Cup in South Africa will be disbanded any moment from now.

Nigeria lost 1-0 to Argentina in their opening game of Group B on June 12, followed by another 2-1 defeat to Greece. On Tuesday the team drew 2-2 with South Korea and eventually crashed of the tournament.

Authoritative sources close to the National Sports Commission told our correspondent in Johannesburg on Wednesday that the NSC had concluded arrangements to disband the squad. According to our sources, some of the big names will be sent packing while only the young and dedicated ones will be retained.

It was learnt that the body would meet with the chieftains of the Nigeria Football Federation on the development.

Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama is being tipped to lead the new-look Eagles that will comprise home-based players and players from the national age-limit teams.

The government is not happy with the performance of the national team at the first World Cup to be hosted in Africa and has decided to act.

Our correspondent learnt that the NSC would encourage the NFF to retain coach Lars Lagerback to enable the country to build a formidable team.

@Rihane....God bless you for sharing my grievences with me
Siasia should have been given the coach but low-profile Lagerback
Why didnt him coach his own country......anyway corruption is our biggest problem

The NFA won´t allow Siasia to coach super eagles bcos they have nol concret confident in him but rather they have confident in foreign coach and we are not even progressing in the on going compitition.

Eagles losing the match has nothing to do with Sani Kaita..... SOMETHING WENT WRONG.....

What went wrong mr.? what can a good team even do in that difficulty? Let me guess, try to win or draw? watch Barca vs getafe´s match when Barca´s team were reduced to 10 agains 11..Barca´s game suddenly changed and getafe started pressuring them but barca were luck to had won that match.

Remember that we are talking about one of the bigest club here but what do we expect super eagle to do when they were reduce3d to 10 man? Let me quess, try to defend? or to win against hungry Greece? It is appearantly impossible for supper eagle to overcome their opponent. I honestly commend super eagle´s effort and even Oliver Khan... the former german keeper said on Tv after the match that supper eagle tried and they are strong team but it is quiet unffortunate that they were reduced to 10 man which spoil everything 4 them.

That means we have to beat korea by 3:0 or 2:0 provided that argentina win greece by 1 or 2:0
28  Forum / Sports / Re: Greece beats 10-man Nigeria WOULD U BLAME SANI KAITA? on: 17-06-2010 06:57 PM
sani kaita should never return to super eagle or else i will kill if i catch him bcos he made me shit on my body with his  stupid act.

Lagerbach did a good job everyonen knows.Lets not talk about kaita´s stupid act bcos it won´t help us any more. We need to talk about what nigeria needs in the middle. A player who can hold ball, drible and make good passes at the middle is all nigeria lack. Secondly, our attackers and wingers are not that aggressive in moving the ball so fast. I think we really need someone like jay jay...kanu..babayaro...finidi and so on.

d coach also  made a grave mistake by replacing osaze with obasi......

The coach has no faut by replacing osaze with Obasi. He did a good job but our mean problem was Kaita who was sent off through his studip act. Here in germany, the football analylist even said that nigerian problem in this match was Kaita. So stop blaming an innocent man ( coach).

@ agatex, poverty is everywhere globally and this is not about respect while we are still suffering from harsh economy but it has to do with individual moral and behavior.

Not only the elders do this but also the children as a result of what they often hear from almost everyone in todays society. For example, words like....your head is not correct, I no go better for your enemy, and above all, in our movies. Look at some bad words coming out from our actors and actresses of nowadays compared it with the white movies.

I was in lagos some weeks ago and saw children and elderly people fighting and coursing one other and using abusive words. Though nothing realy we can do about it but we on naijapal can still caution and control ourselves not to use any aggressive and abusive words on anyone no matter how the aggressors do so as to let our children learn from us and caution them too not to use abusive words. Thank you.

@debi, thank you for telling to receive jesus as my Lord and personal savior. Alhamdulillhai, that i belief in Isa ( Jesus) (may be peace of Allah be upon him) even more than you do but not as my Lord and personal savior bcos Allah (God) is one and He is my lord and personal savior and Isa ( Jesus) was His messanger like other prophets.

You also said that you christains know that Mohammad ( may the peace of Allah be upon him) is in Hell. How do you know and who confirmed that to you and can you prov it?
37  Forum / Religion / Re: CALL TO LIGHT - contradictions and falacies in the bible on: 13-06-2010 07:29 AM
@debi, how do you know that only christains´s soul will be rose to heaven after death? Is that what your pastor told you or where is that in the bible? I am not surprised at you bcos you call yourself a christain but you don´t have knowledge of the Holy Bible. Muslims believe that every soul shall be rose to heaven where the judgement will be done on every soul and here you are saying only christains will be rose. Obviously, you have failed with your faith for believing that only christains will be rose to heaven. better you stop typing or posting something meaningless here on naijapals and if you do, i will kick your ass for you right here. salam.

@inemx, the Quran 4:89 says.....(There is no good in most of their secret talks save (in) him who orders Sadaqah (charity in Allah's Cause), or Ma'ruf (Islamic Monotheism and all the good and righteous deeds which Allah has ordained), or conciliation between mankind; and he who does this, seeking the good Pleasure of Allah, We shall give him a great reward.).

Maybe you should say something else and stop bringing wrong verses. Obviously, you are truthful of all you are saying. I have read through all you have wrote as far here on naijapals. Please, do not give false verses of the Quran. All we want is the prove and nothing but the truth. May God help us all.
