A crazed newlywed who murdered her husband with a kitchen knife told cops she had sex with him after he had been fatally wounded.

Sharon Edwards, described as a violent bully, has been jailed for life for the horrific killing of her husband David Edwards.

She had denied the killing, telling police her husband had walked onto the knife, which she had taken from him during an argument.

She then claimed the couple then went to bed where she performed a sex act on him before leaving him to sleep.
Edwards said she found him dead in bed seven hours later.

Edwards knifed her husband just months after they returned from their wedding in Las Vegas.
During her trial Manchester Crown Court heard she had attacked her husband several times in heated rows.

David even had to wear make-up over a black eye and fat lip on his wedding day to hide the abuse.

“You have a violent and bullying nature,” presiding judge William Davis said.

The couple were considered to be pillars of the community
“This deadly attack with a deadly weapon was the culmination of long term bullying by you of this highly respected member of the community.

“Your bullying of him robbed people of a decent man who was a highly valued member of the community.”
Speaking on behalf of the British prosecution service, Rob Jensen said the case serves to highlight that men can be victims of domestic abuse too.

“Domestic abuse can come in all sorts of guises and this case is another in the sad catalogue of violent repressive relationships that seem to rob the victim of their power or ability to stop the violence.”

65  Forum / Politics / 8 feared dead as Fulani herdsmen attack Benue communities on: 8-03-2016 06:07 PM
Reports from Benue state have it that suspected Fulani herdsmen have invaded some communities and have killed about eight persons in a fresh attack.

According to Vanguard, the incident which occurred on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in parts of Logo local government area of state, is coming barely a week after suspected Fulani invaders killed about 300 persons in Agatu communities in the state.

Four villages; Tse Chia, Tse Nhumbe, Deghkia and Ngorukgan were stormed at about 2am, were besieged by the gunmen who were said to be shooting sporadically and burning down houses and huts in the affected communities.

“It was a coordinated attack on the four villages by the well armed herdsmen who stormed our villages in large number, around 2am and shooting sporadically.

“It was the sound of their gunshot that woke everyone from sleep resulting in a stampede and the gunning down and macheting of about 8 persons though the causality figure maybe more than that because many person are still unaccounted for just as scores sustained serious injuries.

“As I speak with you the affected villages have been deserted and the invaders have taken over and are razing in the ancestral homes of the people who have fled to Anyii, Ugba and Abeda towns, in their thousands, for fear of being killed.

“It’s a pathetic situation, the development has inflicted untold hardship on women, children and the elderly who are trekking long distances in search of safe haven and awaiting the intervention of security operatives,” a source informed.

The Benue state police spokesman, Assistant Superintendent (ASP), Moses Yamu in his response to the attack, said he was yet to receive details of the development.

This is not the first time that the cattle rustlers would enter communities to kill residents as they also ensured serious panic in Uzo Uwani local council area of Enugu state, where many people were confirmed dead and properties worth millions destroyed. http://www.bengist247.com/2016/03/8-feared-dead-as-fulani-herdsmen-attack.html?m=0

Vanguard gathered from a family source that they have presented the proposal to the government and that Senator Ngige was to convey the information on how the burial will go to the presidency.

The source informed further that they decided to bury the late minister immediately was informed by the fact that he died at a young, adding that his demise came as a rude shock to the family, friends and relations who were still yet to come to terms with the tragedy.

Also, the source disclosed that since the late minister was a practicing and devout Christian, Easter activities would eat into the burial proceedings if delayed in any way.

The source said: “It is only if it is a celebration of life for one that is old that we delay the corpse. The minister did not die at the ripe age so there is no way we could continue to delay the burial. His death is pathetic to us.”

Reports say as at Tuesday morning, many synpathisers were still seen thronging the residence of the late minister at 4, Dagash street, Kado Estate, Abuja with their faces suggesting their worries.

Ocholi, his wife and son had lost their lives on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway on Sunday, March 6 after a fatal car crash and the driver, who initially survived the accident, was confirmed dead on Monday in Abuja.

According to Daily Trust, he said the visit by Zuma is also expected to firm up trade and investment relations between the two countries which are the largest economies on the African continent.

“It is a very good thing that we are thinking that South Africa being our close ally should come and help us in developing our industrial complex, that is the Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria.

“We are of the opinion that very soon, after the two Commanders-in-Chief meet, we will look into going deep on how the two countries will work together and come to an agreement on the MoU and technical expertise between the two countries,” he said.

“This is just like the special forces that have been discussed by the two Chiefs of Defence Staff; that one will come into being between the two countries as soon as possible.”

Dan-Ali said in 2013, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between the two countries with extensive bilateral agreements on defence cooperation, adding that the country acquired some mine resistant armoured vehicles from South Africa.

He said South African defence expertise may be needed for maintenance of the vehicles purchased and for other and operational purposes.

In her remarks, Ms Mapisa-Nqakula noted that the cooperation between the two countries would lead to stronger ties.

She said South Africa was interested in how best to engage in areas of cooperation, information sharing, training, research and development and exchange programs that would help the two countries deal with security challenges. http://www.bengist247.com/2016/03/south-african-special-forces-to-fight.html?m=0

Zuma’s visit to Nigeria and President Buhari is aimed at mending the relations between the two giants of Africa, as there are also indications that it is an opportunity for both presidents to address the South Africa-Nigeria Business Forum.

Nigeria’s role in the reparation of South Arica has a special place in the history of the African continent and we must strive not to be left behind in the fourth industrial revolution. 73  Forum / Politics / Stop forcing our girls into marriage - Christians warn on: 7-03-2016 12:20 PM
Ese Oruru was abducted from her Bayelsa home, moved to Kano and allegedly forced to marry one Yunusa Yellow.

The chairman of the Kano state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Ransom Bello has warned Muslims to desist from the trend of forceful abduction of teenagers and eventual conversion to Islam for marriage purposes.

Speaking on the backdrop of the Ese Oruru’s case, Bello said Christians had witnessed a lot of similar situations in Kano state like that in time past, lamenting that, efforts to return the abductees to their families most times were unsuccessful.

The bishop told Daily Post that the forceful abductions of Christian teenagers by Muslims was due to the fact that Christians were in the minority in the state.

He however warned that if such abductions fail to stop it might result in religious crisis because “there was a limit to which anyone can push a matter of this nature”.

He said:“We want the other religion to understand that what¬ever they don’t want us to do them, they should not do it to us. I don’t think we will like to do that to any Muslim girl.

“We don’t abduct Muslim girls and then, force them into conversion. No! If you marry your wife properly, with all the consents that are needed and your wife decided to be a Christian or Muslim, so be it!

“Nobody is against any young couple getting mar¬ried if they reach the age of marriage, if they are of age; but things should be done properly and, according to all the existing rules of their tradition, culture and faith.”
