Sarah Kemp, 42, from Edinburgh met London-based George Bentley, 47 on UK dating website, ForgetDinner.co.uk. After swapping photos and emails the pair met up at a pub near George’s home in East Ham.

George and Sarah were born in Ashford, Kent but were separated in 1975 when their parents, David and Felicity divorced.

Six-year old Sarah joined her mum in Edinburgh, while David, nine, joined his dad in London. From then on, the families stopped speaking.

When they grew up the pair did try and make contact, but without success. The search was made more difficult after Sarah got married in 1989. She got divorced years later but kept the name ‘Kemp’.

George, a builder, said: “After a while, I think both Sarah and I gave up looking."

When the pair made the discovery they felt embarrassed, but were soon celebrating the happy news by drinking champagne all evening.

They have since met up several times and George said: "This was the meeting of a lifetime and we are now planning to see each other as often as possible to catch up on the time spent apart."

She started visiting me unlike before. One day I was in her room with her and one guy a copper knock at the door. She went and opens the door and the guy came in with a traveling bag. I wrote a letter to her that i am not interested in the relationship again. She went and informs Tobi about my letter. Tobi later met me and i told him what happen. He advises me not to allow another guy snatch my girl from me which means I am not a man.
With Tobi's advice i invited Patience to my room to explain what happened. She met the guy when they are in camp and she never knew he will search for her. In December 2003, when she wanted to travel for Xmas, I wish her to get a husband during Xmas period and I was seriously praying for to marry a good husband. When we came back on January I ask her how far whether someone has hook her and she said no. I encourage her that with time GOD will give her a good husband. Towards the end of our NYSC I ask her to choose between me and the other guy because I am no longer ready to share her with the guy.
After sometime she discharged the guy and stop visiting him. When we finished our NYSC i told her we will continue with our relationship. I have completely fall in love with her. I made up my mind to marry her but i didn't inform her. I went back to Lagos where my parent is staying and she went back to Ebonyi State. I always call her every day. I told my parent about her and things change. My mother said over her dead body should i marry outside my town. All my brothers and sisters were against me. My Dad said the girl has use charm on me. My Dad called a family meeting and I asked them one question. “Outside the girl been from another state, is there any other reason why I should not marry the girl. All my aunties and uncles were on me. There were Pressure from all angles and no one to support me. Opened up to Patience what I am passing through because of her. From 2004 to 2006 it was battle between me and my family. I started praying to GOD to intervene. In April 2006 my family said since after these years and I have not change my mind, they finally agreed but it is against their wish. I was very grateful to GOD that HE has finally answered my prayer. June 12 2006 was the date for my marriage introduction on 1st June 2006 I lost my Job and my marriage introduction was shifted. Today been 3rd March 2011 to GOD is the glory, we are married and GOD has blessed us with a beautiful daughter and better jobs. We based in Lagos. My family love my wife especially my mother. I will ever be grateful to GOD. I pray that GOD will continue to bless my marriage.

When I was in the University I dated many girls. As soon as I went for NYSC I cut off all of them. Because I knew that if I should continue that means I will marry the person. I serve at Otulukpo Benue State in 2003 Batch B. I was posted to Federal Technical College Otulukpo. I lived in the copper’s Lodge. I wanted to date one of my student but something happen. One day I was in my room, one of my copper male friends visited me. We are in the same platoon when we are in the camp. So he told me that he was post to the next school after mine. We have common wall. His name is Tobi. So when Tobi wanted to go I followed him to know his lodge. At his copper lodge he started to introduce me to other coppers. I will never forget this day.
So we were entering room by room until we get to a room where he said "this is where I am staying for now until my own room is ready." He introduce me to his roommate, her name is Patience. I introduce myself to her. That night I found it difficult to sleep. I felt something for Patience whom I met that day. I was thinking about her throughout the night. Early in the morning next day I went to see Tobi. I thought the girl may be his girl friend. I jokily say to Tobi, your roommate girl friend is fine oh! Tobi said to me that he is just keeping his bags in her room. I opened up to Tobi that I like the girl. Tobi said to me you are free. I thank him and left. My problem now is how to toast this girl. My roommate John, advise me to express my feelings to her. After all I will not lose anything in trying, highest she will say no.
One day, I visited her and opened up. That day I received the shock of my life. She told me that she is married. I couldn't say anything anymore. I apologize to her and left. I told my roommate what happen. John say to me some babes if they want to discharge you they will tell you that they are married so that you can stop boarding them. He advised me to try again. After some days I visited her again. I told her even though you are married we can still be ordinary friends after all we are fellow coppers. I said in my mind this will enable me to know if she is truly married. We became friends. I told John, we are now just friends. John said this will enable me to know the truth.
All these period I never see any proof of marriage. I ask her to show me proof of marriage. She couldn't and finally she opened up. She narrated to me how she dated a guy for more than 7yrs and the guy dumps her for another girl. She was crying while narrating the story. The guy was the person that dis virgin her and promise her marriage. She nearly lost her life because of heart break. I pleaded with her to give me a chance to heal the wound and after NYSC service we will depart to our various places. May be when she get back to her town she might find true love again. She accepted and we became intimate friends. That day I was very happy and I told John my roommate everything. John said i told you before don't give up. I thanked him for his encouragement.
