I trust she is not speaking of you ksurrina, but the one who believes that football will fix it all. the PEOPLE love the football, I personally will be praising God and celebrating for months! and firmly believe Naija will win it! but the American government couldn't care less if Nigeria wins the world cup, and it has nothing to do with this subject. if it were only that easy. it is so unfortunate that someone is compromising your account, please don't stop posting though, they are only trying to stop you because you are hitting a nerve.

I agree with the Nigerian government's anger at the way America has put them on the watch list for this one isolated action, when America itself failed to listen to the boys father who gave warning of his son's actions, but I also agree that the Nigerian Government should practice patience.

Barack Obama DOES NOT AGREE with putting Nigeria on the list, and he will do all he can to maintain relations.
the Nigerian government should offer to work with America on preventing it from happening again without de-humanizing Nigerian citizens!

Nigeria is well known for it's internet scams, and coruption, but has never been guilty of willing terrrorism against America! or any other country that I am aware of. Nigeria's issues are internal, with people just trying to survive in their countries infancy. This one boy was brainwashed, and used by the terrorists, and AMERICA HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS! America shold not judge a country without first looking in the mirror!!!

I will do all I can to help! I will email Barack himself and beg him to do all he can to maintain relations with Nigeria! we should be allies and friends!

what is tribes love come from? what language does love speak? what religious is love?
Sweetheart my Husband was raised Muslim, and I was raised christian. I agree with the above quote.
 LOVE KNOWS NO BOUNDERIES

first of all, if her family thinks they can pay you off, their morals are in question, or perhaps they are just testing you. and if she is willing to disown her family for you, she truely loves you, where is your dedication to her?

With Moruf and I, I chose to become muslim against my families will,(he did NOT ask me to convert) and frankly don't care one bit if they have a problem with my choice, they never asked my opinion when they decided to associate others with God.

I also chose to adopt my Husbands language and culture fully as well, I LOVE Nigeria, as I do the USA, and frankly prefer Naija.

and sweetie, the religion you and your woman choose should be between you and her. your families will either accept this or not. you should not let it come between you and her. If she is willing to become muslim, let her family fret all they want. If you decide to become Christian, your own family will either accept this or not. deal with it, but don't let it sway your love, or your decision to make her your wife. her family trying to pay you off is just an insult, and you should tell them so!

Grin LOL thank you Odiono. I agree with you on this then, a youth corp is a great thing if the youth's lives are not endangered, and they get a great deal of discipline, schooling, and monitary savings from it. Give service to your country, and the country should give back much to you as well. as long as the youth's are not fighting. the children are too precious to endanger. America has many such youth corps, that are very good, but none are manditory.    except the draft. when a man becomes 18 years old he must register for the draft. so if our Military (Army) needs him, he must serve. but then he's a man, not a youth. and even our military gives a four year college degree, and good pay, and a guaranteed government loan for a house, for his service to the country.

Please tell me what NYSC is? I gather that it is Nigeria's Army?
47  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Nigerian political office holders highest paid globally, says Transparency on: 27-11-2009 07:48 PM
Political coruption only lessens when the people stand as ONE, and declare ENOUGH!!! America has made a huge step in this direction with Obama, and I'm not saying he's a saint, just better by far then America has had rule the country since Abraham Lincoln.
In Our Beautiful Country of Nigeria, the change must also come from the people. there are many very desperate people who have chosen the wrong path, while trying to support their families, not just the Politicians. Look in the mirror first. If YOU are good and uncorrupt, then Stand up, and gather your voices together!,and demand that the corrupt ones step down!  Teach every other Citizen, to care about Our country's future, and make the right decisions, Teach your children the value of truth, service to our country, and Faith in God, and our future generations who are elected to office will not bring coruption with them.

Hello, My Husband Muruf and I would like to replace our wedding rings that we bought when we were married, He got them in Egypt, and they are of poor quality. so we were thinking of comparing prices to what is available in Nigeria, We will either buy them when I get there in November, or We'll buy them here, in the us. but we need to know what is available there, do they have gold bands? or something with a Yoruba pattern on it? what is the price ranges? can anyone answer these questions?
You can get a good one at Mega plaza in Lagos. The price range depend on the carat... for 18 carat white gold, you can get a single band for 45k.

Thank you Resi, is that 45k Naria or usd?

and for those who don't know, as Resi does, . . .
yes there are three colors of gold depending on what other metals they mix with it.
Pure gold is of course gold, but it is too soft to use as a ring that way, so the must mix it with other metals to make it strong enough. jewlers often mix it with silver or other metals to make white gold or red gold, and that is usually 18 carrat.

the highest carat gold for a ring is 24 carrat, because pure gold is softer than any other metal and can be molded by hand. it is too soft to make a ring from.

54  Forum / Relationships & Romance / Re: jealousy? on: 25-10-2009 08:06 PM
a little bit of jealousy is good Luvvy, but a lot signifies insecurity. Moruf is very protective of me, and watches that other men don't be crude to me or make comments, and look too hard, but would not ever accuse me of flirting with them to encourage them, he knows i wouldn't do that. so it depends on if he is facing his jealousy at you, or in defense of you.

Bawo ni sweethearts, America isn't a bad place to be, but as one of you were saying, you do have to be prepared. it is a fast and hard place, and very diferent from Naija. I recommend finding other Nigerians there and keeping in touch, so you can help each other when needed, Like Muruf and I, Confidence from friends.

Although I am just learning your Beautiful Country, I do Love it with all my heart, and you all should be very proud of it, and work to make it better.

It would be a good advantage for a person to make a living here in America, but I would never leave Nigeria for long.
Being as it is with so many diferent nationalities mixed together, America doesn't have a culture, and one can loose track of theirs if not careful.

One of the many things I love about Okomi mi Muruf Olajide, is his and your culture, and lacking one of my own, I have began to adopt his. So to the gentleman who said We should come to Nigeria? I have every intention of doing just that. and getting duel citizenship So I can love Both of My countries. Of the two, I prefer Nigeria  Grin
